Graphic of Joe Gothard being named 2024 National Superintendent of the Year

We are extremely proud to announce that our superintendent, Dr. Joe Gothard, was named the 2024 National Superintendent of the Year by the American Association of School Administrators (AASA). Dr. Gothard was one of four finalists for this award. To be eligible for the National Superintendent of the Year Award, candidates were first named by their state association (the Minnesota Association of School Administrators) as the State Superintendent of the Year.

National School Counseling Week 2024 is Feb 5-9

National School Counseling Week, sponsored by the American School Counselor Association (ASCA), highlights school counselors’ tremendous impact on helping students succeed in school and plan for career and college. National School Counseling Week is celebrated the first full week in February. SPPS is grateful for the excellent school counselors who serve our students every day.

Johnson Badminton team

All registrations for high school athletics will now take place through rSchool Today, beginning with the spring 2024 season. Instructions about how to register are on the SPPS Athletics website. 7th or 8th grade athletes wishing to try out will need to complete the appropriate form, found on the SPPS Athletics website.
